Friday TN Question No.4

Each week we ask our readers a simple question about their Travellers Notebooks and how they use them.

So this weeks question:

Do you use a pen holder in your Travellers Notebook?

Please answer in the comments below, although I know a few of you will answer my question on Facebook.

Yes, I use a pen loop. Sometimes I'm carrying nothing but my notebook, so I like to have a pen attached so it's easy to actually use the thing! I have been finding that the leather is stretching and making it hard to get pens in and out of lately, so I may experiment with another pen solution sometime.

I don't use a pen loop, yet, because I've only so far used my TN's at home, but I feel that I should have one. That said, I'm not sure I like the Midori style ones, and wonder if there's a better looking alternative? Monique in the Netherlands incorporates one into some of her booklets I think, or perhaps something along the lines of the Filofax Flex pen holder could be made?

Yes, I'm using a pen loop, thoufh I have always one or two pens in my pocket. You can never have too much pens 😉

I don't have a pen loop in my FN size TN planner. I can just stick the pen under the elastic in a certain spot between 2 inserts, and it stays nice and secure. I do have a pen loop on my regular size TN, a handmade one I purchased off Etsy. It's one of those squares with a sticky back and an elastic loop for your pen.

yes, i do attach one to whichever TN i carry on a given day. i purchased a Midori brand loop and just move it from notebook to notebook as needed.

I keep a pen in the loop on my notebooks that have a loop physically attached; I tried the clip-on pen loop, but it drove me crazy! My FN size notebook doesn't have a pen loop, so sometimes I just slip a pen under the elastic on the opening edge of the notebooks. That pen is narrow enough that it doesn't interfere with anything.

Talking specifically about pen loops, can anyone tell me what size to go for? I tend to write with a Parker 51 or 61, both pencil and ballpoint. Thanks.

Yes, a dear friend made me a pen loop. I really love it.
I tried the original pen loop also, but it didn't work for me.
